The following is a handwritten account of this voyage by Lieutenant Commander J. K. B. Stephenson complete with photographs.
In addition to being a narrative of the voyage Commander Stephenson recounts the difficulties and problems encountered on an ocean voyage in a vessel designed for rivers and inland waterways. He presents an informative account of life on a river gunboat at sea.
